Ahead of the Sallah celebration by the Muslim faithfuls, a non-governmental organization, Initiative for Muslim Women of Nigeria has distributed food and clothes to vulnerable households in Kaduna.
The national director, IMWON, Malama Mariya Nasir El-ladan during the distribution on Monday said the items was part of their activities in reaching out to the needy in the communities.
Recalled that the foundation has consistently supported impoverished Muslims with essential items such as food and clothing during Eid celebrations.
She reiterated the organization’s commitment to supporting Muslims in their spiritual endeavors during the 30-day Ramadan fasting period.
“The importance is to ensure that all individuals, regardless of economic status, can observe the holy month with dignity and fulfillment”.
Malama Mariya Nasir therefore called on affluent members of society to continue supporting the less privilege, especially during this fasting period, she added.
She however, appealed to marketers to consider reducing the prices of goods and services, thereby alleviating the financial burden on families during festive seasons and beyond.
The beneficiaries includes; communities in Kachia, Ikara, and Zaria LGA of Kaduna.
She further said, the organization extended its outreach to Kogi, Niger, and Kebbi states.
