Northern Stakeholders Consultative Forum (NSCF) has described the local government elections into the 23 councils as peaceful, free and fair.
This is even as the forum commended the Kaduna State Independent Electoral Commission for conducting a credible election.
The convener Comrade Paul Danjuma in a statement on Saturday said, areas monitored within Kaduna metropolis shows that election was going on peacefully with no hitches whatsoever.
He however, said earlier challenges of late arrivals of materials where addressed as elections started and voters exercised their voting rights unchallenged.
“We commended the good people of Kaduna State for turning out in their large numbers to exercise their rights and vote leaders of their choice.
” The electoral umpire KADSIECOM has done well and must be commended fo a job well done, allowing the people to peacefully vote people of their choice”.
” We congratulate would be winners and urge those that may not be successful now to accept the results in the spirit of sportsmanship” he stressed.
The forum urged Kaduna residents to go about their normal activities now that the local government elections is over while urging successful winners to provide dividends of democracy to their respective local government areas.
“We also commend the Governor Uba Sani for providing an enabling environment for a peaceful election in the State.
Thenewsfatual reports that electoral materials arrived late at most of the polling units in the State as election did not take place in some areas.
