21,000 disengaged teachers has appealed to Kaduna Governor, Uba Sani  to  pay all their entitlements.

Recalled that 21,000 teachers were sacked in 2017 who failed competency test under Governor Nasir El-Rufai’s administration.

The State Coordinator, Kaduna State Illegally Disengage Teachers Forum, Aminu Maitama explained that former governor sacked them to reduce the number of teachers employed by the State government.

According to him, the competency test conducted was not done in good faith as presented to the public, but to reduce the number of teachers employed by the State government.

“We are happy that the Governor who sacked us is already seeing the hand of God all over the place. It is unfair to treat teachers, who contributed their quota to educational development in the State in such a heartless manner,” they said.

“I scored 70 per cent in the result they showed us. I wondered why I was sacked after such an above-average rage score. The truth is that there are several cases such as mine in all the 23 Local Government Areas of the State.

Speaking further, he explained, “I think what El-Rufai did was to sack the teachers to reduce the st of salary payments without recourse to the standard of teaching and education in the State.

“We’re appealing to our compassionate Governor to consider our plights and revisit the issue of the 21,000 sacked teachers. We strongly that the Governor from all indications would sympathise with and do the needful immediately.

The sacked teachers, who commended the Governor for ordering the immediate release of the sum of N548 million to the Nigerian Union of Teachers  Endwell scheme which was withheld by the past administration, also appealed to him to conduct another competency test for them to ascertain their eligibility.
