The Kaduna State Chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has reaffirmed its commitment to sports development through enhanced collaboration with the state government.
This was expressed when some executive members of the association, led by its Chairman, Shehu Abdullahi, paid a courtesy visit to the Commissioner for Sports Development, Prof. Benjamin Kumai-Gugong, at his office on Tuesday.
During the meeting, both parties discussed strategies to promote sports journalism and drive growth in the sector.
Prof. Kumai-Gugong welcomed the delegation and reiterated the ministry’s readiness to partner with media professionals in advancing sports in the state.
Other members of the SWAN delegation included Assistant Secretary Comrade Austine Agbo Emmanuel, Financial Secretary Comrade Idris Dare, and Treasurer Comrade Nonye Juliet Ekwenugo.
The visit highlights the growing synergy between the state government and sports journalists in fostering sustainable sports development.
