The TY Buratai Humanity Care Foundation has applauded the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, the Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, and troops of Operation Hadin Kai for successfully repelling coordinated terrorist attacks on Buratai and Mallam Fatori in Borno State.
In a press statement signed by its Chairman, Ibrahim Dahiru Danfulani, Buratai praised the gallant troops of the 135 Special Forces Battalion, Buratai, for their swift and courageous response during the early morning assault on Thursday, June 5, 2025.
Danfulani noted that the rapid and coordinated response by the troops, with critical support from the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai, was instrumental in thwarting what could have been a devastating attack on innocent civilians.
He also lauded the troops’ bravery and expressed optimism that Nigeria’s security situation would improve significantly under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“I see improved security in the next two years under Tinubu,” Gen. Buratai said, adding that the successful operations reflect a renewed determination to restore peace and stability in the region.
“According to military sources, the terrorists attempted to breach troop locations from multiple directions but were met with fierce resistance. The joint operations led to the neutralisation of numerous insurgents and the recovery of a large cache of arms and ammunition, including AK-47 rifles, General Purpose Machine Guns (GPMGs), and Rocket Propelled Grenades (RPGs)”.
The statement further disclosed that mop-up operations are ongoing in the area to flush out any remaining threats and consolidate on the gains recorded during the encounter.
The foundation reiterated its support for the Nigerian Armed Forces and commended their relentless efforts in securing the nation from insurgent threats. It called on Nigerians to continue supporting the military while encouraging unity and collective effort in the pursuit of lasting peace.
“The heroism of our troops cannot be overstated. They are the true defenders of our sovereignty and deserve every encouragement,” the statement concluded.
The TY Buratai Humanity Care Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to humanitarian and security support, particularly in the Northeast, where communities continue to recover from years of insurgency.
