The Media Adviser to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Mr. Paul Ibe, has taken a swipe at former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, over his sustained verbal attacks on the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections, Mr. Peter Obi.

In a statement posted on his verified X (formerly Twitter) handle on Saturday afternoon, Ibe accused Omokri of launching “pedestrian, acerbic and unprovoked” attacks against Obi, describing his conduct as lacking credibility and moral standing.

The media adviser’s remarks were in response to a post by Omokri on Friday in which he claimed to have had a private conversation with Atiku and positioned himself as a custodian of integrity, suggesting his closeness to the former vice president.

Taking issue with Omokri’s self-ascribed moral authority, Ibe wrote:

> “Reno Omokri, you are a classic case study in psychological projection — an insecure man so desperate to escape his own failures that he accuses others of the very flaws that define him.”

He went further to describe the former presidential aide as a “master of treachery” whose loyalty, he said, was as unstable as quicksand.

“Credibility and Reno Omokri in the same grammatical environment? Oh, what a mockery. That’s an oxymoron so wild it should be banned by both logic and language,” he added.

Ibe also questioned Omokri’s repeated attacks on Obi, challenging him to explain what wrongdoing the former Anambra State governor had committed to warrant such treatment. He said Omokri’s constant criticism was indicative of insecurity and political opportunism.

Accusing Omokri of being ethically inconsistent, Ibe remarked: “You claim my principal has been ‘good’ to you? Let’s not pretend. That phone call you trumpet was likely just another pit stop in your never-ending pilgrimage for personal ‘goodness.’”

He also drew attention to Omokri’s shifting political loyalties, alleging that his recent overtures toward the Tinubu administration undermined his previous critical stance on the president’s past controversies.

“Instead of clowning around on the imaginary Lagos-Calabar expressway, why not explain how Government College Lagos managed to award a certificate to ‘Bola A. Tinubu’ in 1970 — two full years before the school was established?” Ibe queried.

In a biting conclusion, the adviser labeled Omokri “expendable,” alleging that he had betrayed past allies for “crumbs and clout,” and declared him “utterly irrelevant.”

“Let it be clear: you are expendable, Reno. Loud, treacherous, desperate — and utterly irrelevant. No amount of delusion or self-adulation will save you from that truth,” Ibe stated.
