The Zonal Pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Salvation Centre, Kaduna, Pastor Emmanuel Fikioluwa, has urged men to embrace regular physical exercise to enhance their productivity and overall well-being.

Pastor Fikioluwa made the call during a novelty football match between the Men’s Fellowship and the Women’s Fellowship of the church, organised to promote physical fitness, family bonding and unity among members.

Speaking at the event, the cleric said engaging in physical activities was not only vital for maintaining good health but also for improving mental alertness and productivity in daily life.

He said, “Exercise keeps the body and mind active. As men, we must understand that to be productive and effective in our responsibilities both in the family and in the church, we need to care for our physical health. We must also encourage our youths to avoid social vices and channel their energy into positive ventures.”

Leader of the Men’s Fellowship, Brother Obaje Amidu, said the essence of the football match was to strengthen unity and family ties within the congregation. He noted that sporting activities have a unique way of breaking barriers and fostering friendship among people.

“Sports unite people, regardless of their background. We organised this match to encourage bonding and togetherness among our members. It was also a fun way to remind everyone about the importance of staying fit,” he said.

The friendly match ended 1–0 in favour of the Women’s Fellowship, who displayed great teamwork and enthusiasm throughout the game.

Pastor Fikioluwa commended both teams for their spirit of sportsmanship and urged members to make physical and spiritual wellness a regular part of their lives.
