SOKAPU Inaugurates Committee To Host Reception Dinner For Gen. Christopher Musa

The Southern Kaduna Peoples’ Union (SOKAPU) has announced the constitution of a committee to organize a reception dinner in honour of the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa Gwabin (rtd).

In a statement signed by the President of SOKAPU, Engr. Tabara Samuel Kato, and General Secretary, Umar Galadima Gwantu, the committee is chaired by Ambassador Dr. Polycarp Gankon and tasked with overseeing preparations for the event aimed at celebrating General Musa’s distinguished service to the nation.

Other members of the committee include former SOKAPU President, Hon. Jonathan Asake, Charity Steven Shekari, Justice Esther Lolo (rtd.), Pastor Yusuf Pama, Elder James Swam, Mrs. James Obadiah, Pastor Chingali Ishaya, who will serve as Secretary, Comrade Solomon Simon Andrew, Dr. Gloria Dorshiya Aboy, Ms. Nano Solomon Kurmi, Ms. Nah Gambo (Treasurer), Livingstone Joseph, and Alhaji Bala Adamu.

According to the statement dated October 31, 2025, the Central Executive Committee of SOKAPU expressed confidence in the appointed members, describing them as “distinguished personalities capable of delivering a befitting event.”

“The Union is honoured to have these individuals serve in the committee. Their experience and commitment to the Southern Kaduna cause are invaluable as we prepare to host General Musa in recognition of his meritorious service,” the statement added.

The terms of reference for the committee were also attached to the appointment letter, outlining the responsibilities and scope of work for the members.

General Christopher Musa, a native of Southern Kaduna, recently retired after a long and distinguished career in the Nigerian Army, during which he served in various capacities and was widely commended for his leadership and dedication to national unity.
