The Nigeria Electricity Supply Industry (NESI) has launched a landmark program, an event designed to strengthen sector performance, foster technological innovation, and boost workforce morale across the electricity industry.
The event scheduled for November 15–22, 2026, will bring together electricity companies, regulators, innovators, and investors for a week of collaboration, innovation, policy dialogue, and celebration.
According to the founder, Dr. Obiorah Anthony, NESI WEEK is “the platform we have been waiting for, a unified event where the entire electricity sector can compete, innovate, dialogue, and celebrate achievements together.
He added that the gathering will strengthen relationships, inspire excellence, and support the transformation of Nigeria’s power industry.
The Founder said, the event is expected to host over 15,000 participants, including athletes, innovators, delegates, and spectators, with more than 60 organizations from across the power value chain participating.
“NESI WEEK will combine sports, innovation challenges, policy forums, exhibitions, and awards into a single, week-long platform designed to foster collaboration, excellence, and unity”.
“Workforce teams from electricity agencies across the country will compete in a sector-wide sports and wellness festival, while startups, young innovators, and technical teams will participate in a national competition to develop solutions for energy reliability, revenue assurance, grid modernization, billing transparency, safety, and renewable energy expansion”.
Dr. Anthony said the initiative is not just an event but an institutional platform that will support policy improvements, empower young innovators, enhance sector morale, strengthen operational collaboration, mobilize investment, and build a confident, future-ready electricity workforce.
NESI WEEK promises to be a transformative milestone for Nigeria’s electricity sector, uniting stakeholders under a common vision to drive innovation, improve service delivery, and position the industry for sustainable growth.
