A coalition of Southern Kaduna support groups has commended Governor Uba Sani for championing the nomination of General Christopher Gwabin Musa (rtd) as Minister of Defence, describing the appointment as timely and strategic.
Operating under the banner of Karkara ta Asiwaju da Uba Sani Organisation, the coalition said General Musa’s emergence reflected President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to strengthening the nation’s security architecture.

Addressing journalists at a press conference at Epitome Hotel, Barnawa, Convener of the group, Hon. Jonah Bonet Pompo, said the former Chief of Defence Staff is a man of honour and proven capacity whose leadership will enhance national security coordination.
He said the coalition was confident that General Musa’s stewardship at the Defence Ministry would further deepen the synergy between the Federal Government and Kaduna State.
The group thanked Governor Uba Sani for what it described as consistent advocacy for competent leadership in national security management, noting that the governor has demonstrated empathy and strategic insight since assuming office.
It recalled the collaboration between President Tinubu, Governor Uba Sani and General Musa during his time as CDS, saying their collective efforts contributed to stabilising communities and restoring confidence in Kaduna.
The coalition also applauded President Tinubu for taking bold steps to reposition the economy and tackle insecurity, while praising Governor Uba Sani for his inclusive governance and prioritisation of citizen welfare.
It stressed that its support for both leaders was based on visible achievements and evidence of good governance.
The coalition urged Nigerians to rally behind the Tinubu-led administration to advance national development.
