The National Youth Alliance (NYA) will on Monday inaugurate its national executive council and unveil its official website and digital portal in Abuja as part of efforts to deepen youth participation in governance ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The event, scheduled to hold at the International Conference Centre (ICC), Abuja, is expected to bring together political stakeholders, youth leaders and development advocates from across the country.
According to a statement issued by the Youth President of the alliance, Ambassador Aliyu Bin Abbas, and made available to journalists in Kaduna by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Okpani Jacob Onjewu Dickson, the ceremony will formally usher in the NYA’s national leadership structure.
The statement said the event will be chaired by Chief Otunba Segun Showunmi, a former spokesperson of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign Organisation, while the keynote address will be delivered by Prof. Ahmed Adamu, Dean of the Faculty of Management and Social Sciences, Philomath University, Abuja.
It added that Hon. Sulaiman Abubakar Gumi, member of the House of Representatives representing Gummi/Bukkuyum Federal Constituency of Zamfara State and chairman of the House Committee on North West Development Commission, will attend as special guest of honour.
Also expected at the event is a former Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Dr. Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu, who will serve as Mother of the Day.
A key feature of the inauguration is the unveiling of the NYA’s official website and digital portal, which the group said is aimed at improving communication, coordination and transparency among youths nationwide.
Speaking ahead of the ceremony, Ambassador Bin Abbas said the alliance was committed to promoting inclusive governance and nurturing a new generation of patriotic and responsible Nigerian leaders.
He noted that the NYA platform would provide young people with opportunities to engage constructively in national development and decision-making processes.
