The Kaduna State Climate Change Accountability Mechanism (KADCCAM) has urged Nigerians to maintain a clean and healthy environment as Muslims across the country celebrate Eid-el-Fitr.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the Co-Chairman of KADCCAM, Ibrahima Yakubu, congratulated Muslims on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast, describing the period as one of devotion, self-discipline and reflection.
He said the lessons of Ramadan should go beyond spiritual growth to include a renewed sense of responsibility towards the environment and the wider community.
Yakubu called on citizens to take deliberate steps to combat pollution in all its forms, including air, water and land pollution, noting that environmental cleanliness is critical to public health and sustainable development.

“As we celebrate Eid-el-Fitr, we should not only rejoice in the spiritual fulfilment of Ramadan but also commit ourselves to protecting our environment,” he said.
He added that keeping the environment clean would help ensure the well-being and prosperity of present and future generations.
KADCCAM also encouraged Nigerians to adopt environmentally friendly practices in their daily activities in order to safeguard natural resources and promote a sustainable future.
