Powerful Boys U-16 put up a dominant display on Thursday, defeating Manna Academy 3-1 in a lively football encounter at the Yelwa Mini Stadium.

From kickoff, the U-16 side showed clear intent, pressing high and moving the ball with confidence as they pinned Manna Academy back in their own half.

Their early dominance soon translated into a goal, with a well-coordinated attacking move ending in a clinical finish that gave them a deserved lead in the first half.

Manna Academy responded positively, reorganising their midfield and pushing forward in search of an equaliser, forcing a series of defensive interventions from their opponents.

Their persistence paid off before the break as they drew level through a composed finish, restoring parity and setting up a competitive contest.

However, the second half saw Powerful Boys U-16 raise their intensity, winning key battles in midfield and regaining control of the game’s tempo.

Their efforts were rewarded when they netted a second goal, taking advantage of a defensive gap to restore their lead and swing momentum back in their favour.
As Manna Academy pushed forward again, Powerful Boys U-16 remained composed, soaking up pressure and launching quick counterattacks that troubled their opponents.

One of such breaks resulted in a third goal, effectively sealing the victory and capping off an impressive team performance.

The result highlights the team’s attacking efficiency and tactical discipline, while Manna Academy will look to build on the positives despite falling short in the encounter.
