Benue: Ceasefire Now, Rep Member Wombo Appeals To Arm Bearing Youths

The Member  representing Katsina-Ala, Ukum and Logo Federal Constituency, Prince Solomon Wombo has called on all arms bearing Youths in the Constituency to ceasefire and  give room for peace.

Wombo who made the appeal on Monday  in Zaki Biam during a thank you visit to Ukum people in Benue State stressed that the destruction of lives and property in the said community is alarming.

He appealed to the aggrieved parties to 

Sheathe their sword and give peace a chance.

“Government will soon unveil a more genuine and inclusive amnesty program that will be panacea to peaceful co-habitation”.

Prince Wombo was accompanied by the Assembly Member representing Ukum State Constituency, Engr Ezra Nyiyongo revealed  that he came to thank the Sankera intermediate block for the massive support he got in the last presidential and National Assembly Elections in which he defeated the incumbent and son of Ukum.

“I’m here to officially say ‘thank you’ Ukum people, you gave me clothes to wear when I was naked, I got the highest number of legal votes cast in Ukum when your son was in the same race, this shows that Ukum people are not selfish, and are true democrats ” Wombo stated.

He appreciated  Senator Emmanuel Memga Udende and  Hon. Paul Biam who ensured  that the rules of zoning takes dominance since Ukum and Shitile had benefited for 12years

On party internal democracy, Wombo charged party faithfuls to remain calm promising that the grudges experienced in the constitution of appointments and market committees will be addressed as contact with relevant stakeholders is on top gear.

Also speaking, Engr Ezra Nyiyongo, the APC chairman Geoffrey Orban Jam, elders Richard Orneer, Mike Tyoga and John Jov appreciated Wombo for coming at the right time to appreciate them. They further appeal to Wombo to always seek party structures in Ukum before major decisions are taken towards respecting the sharing formula of Ya na wan Ingban practice amongst the Tiv people.
