Nigeria’s U-21 Beach Volleyball Teams Depart For Morocco

The Nigeria’s team players for the U-21 Beach Volleyball  both male and female category departed the Ahmadu Bello Stadium (ABS), Kaduna on Wednesday for the Africa Beach Volleyball championship in Casablanca the capital of Morocco.

Speaking with sports writers at ABS on Wednesday, the National head coach for the teams, John Iwerema explained that they have being in camp for 3 weeks.

“We had series of preparation, we just rounded up our 3 weeks camping here in Kaduna and we would be leaving for Abuja to Morocco today”.

“We believe that we will get a good placement on the podium in both male and female”.

“Having gone through the camping exercise and seeing their efforts, these are the best players we have in this category in Nigeria”.

According to Coach Iwerema, 4 players will be leaving for Morocco.

“The championship is starting this weekend in Casablanca Morocco to end on August 31, 2023”.

He commended the President of Nigeria Volleyball Federation, Engr. Musa Nimrod for his sponsorship and assistance.

Also speaking, the President, Nigeria Volleyball Federation,  Engr Musa Nimrod explained that the players are well prepared for the tournament.

“The players are well prepared  for the beach tournament especially the female team, they were in Tunisia for the Africa beach games, they also went to Cotonou for Olympic qualifier”.

“I believe that Nigeria will also be going for world beach volleyball championship in Mexico by September, I believe that this players will perform very well, I have strong confidence, they have to go and showcase their ability and capability”.

One of the player from female category, Esther Mbah Onyinye said, she is confident  they will excel because they work very hard while training.

Onyinye who was in the high spirit promised that they will make the country proud.
