Desist From Drug Abuse, AYCF President Shettima Urges Youth

The National President, Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF), Alhaji Yerima Shettima has urged youths across the country to desist from drugs and criminal activities.

Yerima Shettima made call during  the weekend at  inaugural and swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected executive members of  Rigasa Action and Awareness Forum (RAAF) in Rigasa, Kaduna.

He appealed to the youths to always engage in meaningful ventures that would add value to their lives, adding that drugs and crime are destructive.

Comrade Shettima assured a continuous  support for the people of Rigasa community towards ensuring positive inputs.

He added that his support for the people of Rigasa community and the newly elected RAAF Exco members is beyond imaginations.

He expressed satisfaction  the way the youth of the Rigasa community formulated a Forum that is highly respectable and responsible for the well being of its people, though he is not surprised seeing the community having such kind of like minds considering some of the newly elected officials are part of his AYCF members, he said.

“The newly elect President of the RAAF, Hassan Abubakar and few others are members of the reknown AYCF just as the current State Chairman of AYCF, Sagir Umar is also from Rigasa, so I have no doubt that the people of Rigasa will benefit alot from the newly elected members that I see myself to be part of their leadership journey.

“I will ensure I support the group with all it takes within and outside the state not just from the community, because I am so amazed on seeing how the youth of the community are striving very hard to ensure they become a progressive elements that will change the narrative of the community through awareness and humanity services”.

Earlier in his remarks, the district Head of Rigasa, Dan Galadiman Zazzau, Arc. Mohammed Aminu Idris Mni, expressed gratitude to God Almighty over the successful transition of the leadership to newly elected members, saying RAAF has been a pressure group  for the development of the people and Community.

Represented by Dan Masanin Rigasa, Alhaji Dayyabu Isma’il, the district head tasked the new leadership of the Forum to consider working together with every member of the community and to ensure unity and trust prevails among members of the group so as to enable them to excel in it quest of bringing a progressive development in the community.

“This is one great occasion that will never be forgotten in history, considering that the leadership of RAAF has brought  most of the important dignitaries of the community together and has been a supportive group to the people of the community especially in assisting them to actualize the peaceful coexistence needed in the society.

“As leaders, our doors are always open for any consultation with advises for the association and other people with such like minds, while we will continue to pray for the success of the community and the leadership of the group as we urge the  you to embrace ways of bringing every development to the community inline of your struggles.

Arc Mohammed Aminu Idris, advised the community members to continue to live in peace and harmony with one another in the society.

He therefore urged the youths to indulge into legitimate businesses and equip themselves with knowledge that will be of useful to them and the society.

In his acceptance speech, the newly elected President, Comrade Hassan Abubakar disclosed that the new leadership of the Forum will work hard to ensure that it brings about laudable achievements to the society by changing the narrative and perception of the people from it old system to fit into the global world.

“This inauguration day marks the beginning of a new chapter for their beloved community, and he is truly honored to lead that incredible forum, saying that they will invest in education, skills development, and mentorship programs to ensure that every member of Rigasa has the tools to succeed.

“Rigasa is a place where social justice must prevail. We will advocates for fairness and equality, fighting for the rights of every member. Our voice will be heard, not only within our community but also beyond its borders. We stand united in the pursuit of social justice.

“The heart of our community is its people, and their active participation is vital. We will foster a culture of community engagement, encouraging you all to take an active role in shaping our future. Your ideas, feedback, and energy are invaluable assets in our journey, Says Comrade Hassan”.

However, he proclaimed that this is a new era for RAAF and Rigasa and he is excited about the journey ahead, the challenges they will face, and the successes they will celebrate together.
