The wife of the former Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, Mrs. Naomi Nuhu Bajoga, has called on couples to embrace patience and tolerance as key ingredients for sustaining lasting marriages.

Mrs. Bajoga made the call during the 10th wedding anniversary celebration of Mr. and Mrs. Obaje Amidu, held in Kaduna at the weekend. She noted that while marriage comes with its share of challenges, couples must learn to persevere and make sacrifices for one another to ensure their union stands the test of time.

According to her, “Marriage is not a bed of roses. There will be difficult moments, but what keeps a home together is patience, tolerance, and understanding. Couples must learn to accommodate each other’s weaknesses and grow together rather than let challenges divide them.”

Mrs. Bajoga, who has been married for over four decades, also advised young couples to communicate effectively and seek peace in their homes. She urged them to look beyond fleeting emotions and build their relationships on friendship, respect, and faith in God.

Speaking at the event, the celebrant, Mr. Obaje Amidu, expressed gratitude to God for His faithfulness over the past ten years, saying that the journey had been filled with both trials and triumphs.

“We have every reason to thank God for bringing us this far and blessing us with children. It has been God’s grace and guidance all the way,” he said.

Also speaking, Pastor Fikoliuwa Emmanuel, Zonal Pastor of the Salvation Center of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), congratulated the couple and urged them to continue to seek God’s direction in their marriage.

He said, “When God remains at the center of a marriage, it stands strong through every storm. The secret of a lasting union is allowing divine principles to guide your relationship.”

The event drew dignitaries, family members, friends, and church members who joined in celebrating the couple’s milestone. Guests described the Obajes as a shining example of love, faith, and commitment.

The joyous celebration, marked with prayers, songs, and goodwill messages, ended with renewed vows from the couple, who prayed for continued happiness, peace, and prosperity in the years ahead.
