A chairmanship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State, Engr. Simon Yashim, has felicitated with Muslims and Christians on the commencement of Ramadan and the Lenten season, calling for renewed commitment to peace, unity and prayers for the state and the nation.
In a statement issued to journalists in Kaduna, Yashim said the rare convergence of the two important religious observances presents a unique opportunity for spiritual renewal, sacrifice and strengthened brotherhood among citizens.
He urged adherents of both faiths to use the solemn period for sober reflection and to offer prayers for leaders at all levels, stressing the need for collective support for constituted authorities regardless of ethnic or religious differences.
According to him, “This period of Ramadan and Lent should deepen our faith, promote love and reinforce our shared commitment to peace and security in Kaduna State and Nigeria as a whole.”
The APC chairmanship hopeful commended Governor Uba Sani for what he described as sustained efforts toward restoring peace and driving development across the state, noting that Kaduna has witnessed improved security after years of challenges.
Yashim further appealed to residents to close ranks and support the present APC administration, adding that unity and continuous prayers remain vital to sustaining progress in the state.
He wished Muslims a peaceful Ramadan and prayed for a spiritually rewarding Lenten season for Christians.
