The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Kaduna State Chapter has extended warm greetings and prayers to the President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) Engineer Musa Nimrod on the occasion of his birthday anniversary on Thursday March 5, 2026.
This was contained in a statement jointly signed by its chairman and secretary, Shehu Abdullahi Okpani Jacob Onjewu Dickson respectively.
“Happy birthday to Engineer Musa Nimrod, President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) and patron of Kaduna SWAN!
“Engineer Musa Nimrod has been a driving force behind volleyball development in Nigeria, fostering grassroots growth and international recognition.
“His leadership has transformed the sport, earning him numerous accolades, including the Award of Excellence from the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Kaduna State Branch and the 2024 AUTHENTIC Man of Year.
“Under his guidance, Nigeria’s volleyball teams have achieved remarkable success, including gold medals at the African Youth Games and qualification for the World Beach Volleyball Championship. Engineer Nimrod’s commitment to grassroots development has led to the establishment of volleyball academies in all 36 states,” the statement said.
It added that he has also facilitated professional contracts for Nigerian players globally and supported over 100 grassroots programmes nationwide.
“His visionary leadership has propelled volleyball to unprecedented heights in Nigeria, making the country a formidable force in global volleyball ³ ².
“Engineer Nimrod’s passion for sports development extends beyond volleyball, positively impacting athletics, football, and other sporting disciplines. His humanitarian gestures have earned him recognition as a bridge builder and patriot.
“The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Kaduna State Chapter, lauds Engineer Nimrod’s contributions,” it added, stressing that he’s consistently contributed to sports development in Nigeria. His influence resonates far beyond the volleyball court, inspiring athletes, coaches, and enthusiasts alike.
As President of the NVBF, Engineer Nimrod has prioritized grassroots development, establishing clear pathways from U-15 to senior levels.
He’s strengthened major volleyball tours, incorporating experienced mentors and staff, and attracted additional sponsorship ⁶.
Engineer Nimrod’s leadership has transformed Nigerian volleyball, fostering international success and significant achievements. His dedication, passion, and relentless efforts have made Nigeria a respected force in global volleyball.
The Kaduna State Volleyball Association (KADSVA) honored Engineer Nimrod with an Award of Excellence, recognizing his outstanding contributions to volleyball development. His name is written in gold in the hearts of volleyball enthusiasts ³ ².
