President of the National Youth Alliance (NYA), Ambassador Aliyu Bin Abbas, has formally joined the Action Democratic Party (ADP), positioning the party as a platform to advance youth and women participation in politics and governance ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The development was disclosed in a statement issued on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, by the NYA National Publicity and Media Director, Kurvie Oyibo.
According to the statement, Abbas’ alignment with the ADP reflects a strategic move aimed at deepening inclusive governance and expanding opportunities for young people and women in leadership and decision-making processes.
“The National Youth Alliance (NYA) proudly announces that its Youth President, Ambassador Aliyu Bin Abbas, has officially aligned with the Action Democratic Party (ADP) as a progressive political platform to advance the collective aspirations of Nigerian youth and women,” the statement read.
It added that the decision underscores a renewed commitment to broadening democratic participation and creating sustainable pathways for greater inclusion across all tiers of government.
The statement further noted that Abbas reaffirmed his dedication to championing policies that would empower emerging leaders, strengthen democratic institutions and promote equitable representation in Nigeria’s political space.
“The NYA remains steadfast in its mission to mobilise, support and position credible young leaders and women for transformative roles in governance, in alignment with national development goals,” it said.
The move comes amid ongoing political realignments across the country as stakeholders intensify preparations for the 2027 elections.
