The Special Adviser to the Kaduna State Governor on Rural Development, QS Shehu Aminu Abdullahi, has said strategic investments by Governor Uba Sani in rural communities over the past three years are boosting food security, expanding economic opportunities and improving the quality of life of residents across the state.

Abdullahi stated this in a statement issued to commemorate the 2026 International Rural Development Day, where he highlighted what he described as the administration’s achievements in infrastructure, agriculture, healthcare, education and economic empowerment.

According to him, the Uba Sani administration has pursued an inclusive governance agenda since assuming office, placing rural development at the centre of its policies through sustained investments in critical sectors.

He said agriculture, the backbone of Kaduna State’s rural economy, has received significant government support through the provision of agricultural inputs, free distribution of fertiliser, mechanisation initiatives and programmes aimed at improving farmers’ access to markets.

The adviser said the interventions have increased agricultural productivity, improved rural incomes and strengthened food security across the state.

He added that the administration has invested in the construction, rehabilitation and expansion of rural road networks, improving access to markets, schools, healthcare facilities and other economic opportunities for rural residents.

Abdullahi also said the government has expanded rural electrification through conventional and renewable energy solutions, enhancing commercial activities, improving educational outcomes and strengthening healthcare service delivery in underserved communities.

On healthcare, he said the administration has renovated and equipped primary healthcare facilities, recruited health personnel and expanded access to essential health services in rural communities.

He further noted that investments in educational infrastructure, teacher recruitment and learning materials are improving access to quality education, while youth and women empowerment programmes are creating economic opportunities through skills acquisition, entrepreneurship support, financial inclusion and social intervention initiatives.

While acknowledging that more work remains to be done, Abdullahi said the achievements recorded within the first three years of the Uba Sani administration demonstrate the government’s commitment to ensuring that no community is left behind in Kaduna State’s development.

He expressed confidence that continued investment in rural development would further strengthen food security, economic growth, social inclusion and sustainable development across the state.
