The Zone 12 Intelligence Unit of the Nigeria Police Force has arrested five suspects over the alleged possession of two suspected human eyes and other materials believed to be linked to money ritual activities in Bauchi State.
The suspects were arrested on August 26, 2026, during an intelligence-led operation conducted by the unit in the state.
In a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Zone 12 Headquarters, Bauchi, SP Jalige Mohammad, identified the suspects as Abdullahi Idris, Sani Haruna, Auwal Umar, Abubakar Yusuf and Sharu Sale.
According to him, two suspected human eyes, white and red cloth, as well as other materials suspected to be connected with money ritual activities, were recovered from the suspects.
He said the suspects were currently in police custody and undergoing interrogation, while investigation was ongoing to establish the source of the recovered items and determine the possible involvement of other accomplices.
He added that the suspects would be charged before a court of competent jurisdiction upon completion of the investigation.
The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 12 condemned the alleged act and urged parents, guardians and members of the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious persons or activities to the nearest police formation.
The AIG assured residents of the zone of the command’s commitment to tackling criminal activities and ensuring the safety of lives and property.
