A non-governmental organisation, Omalife Rescue Foundation, has distributed foodstuffs and clothing materials to residents of Chibiri community in Kuje Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) as part of its yuletide outreach.

The exercise was held under the foundation’s 2025 Annual Food and Clothes Fiesta, an initiative aimed at supporting vulnerable families and easing the impact of economic hardship on low-income communities.

Beneficiaries, including women, children and the elderly, turned out in large numbers to receive assorted food items and clothing materials to meet their basic needs.

Speaking at the event, the founder of the foundation, Dr Mrs Omanibe Sanusi, said the intervention was motivated by compassion and the desire to give hope to the less privileged.

She noted that poverty, hunger and inadequate care for children remain pressing challenges in many communities, stressing that efforts by individuals and organisations are needed to complement government interventions.

Dr Sanusi explained that the foundation has made the food and clothes fiesta an annual programme in line with its mandate to provide emergency relief and promote human dignity among vulnerable groups.
According to her, Chibiri community was selected for the 2025 outreach following an assessment that showed significant needs, especially among widows, orphans and low-income households.

She reaffirmed the foundation’s commitment to expanding its programmes in child welfare, skills support and emergency response, adding that Omalife Rescue Foundation remains focused on achieving sustainable impact.

Community leaders, including the Chief of Chibiri, Alhaji Ishaku Sakokwai, and the Onu of Igala Kuje, Chief Alhaji Hassan Khalid, who were present at the event, commended the foundation for the gesture and prayed for God’s blessings on those who contributed to its success.
