The RenewedHope Network (TRN), a group founded by former Zamfara State governor, Abdulaziz Yari, has called on opposition figures to acknowledge what it described as the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, urging them to refrain from spreading misinformation.
The group also advised Nigerians to disregard what it termed propaganda and distortions allegedly being circulated against the president and his administration by political opponents.
Speaking at a solidarity rally held alongside the national convention of the All Progressives Congress, the leader of TRN’s technical committee, Comrade Okpokwu Ogenyi, said the group mobilised thousands of supporters to demonstrate backing for the president.
Ogenyi said the network was established to promote the policies and programmes of the Tinubu administration and to sensitise Nigerians at the grassroots level on the Renewed Hope agenda.
He noted that the president had shown “capacity, commitment and willingness” to reposition the country through ongoing reforms and policy initiatives.
“We call on opposition figures and those aggrieved by the ongoing reforms to set aside their differences and objectively assess the gains of this administration,” he said.
“As the country approaches the 2027 elections, Nigerians should be wary of false narratives and deliberate attempts to mislead the public,” he added.
Ogenyi further alleged that some opposition elements were engaging propagandists to discredit the government but expressed confidence that public support would prevail.
On the influx of political figures into the ruling party, he attributed it to what he described as the administration’s performance, noting that several governors and politicians were aligning with the APC.
Highlighting some achievements, he claimed that the Tinubu administration had made progress in addressing insecurity, stabilising the education sector and introducing student loan initiatives to support access to education.
He also cited improvements in fuel availability and efforts to stabilise the economy, including foreign reserve growth and measures to manage inflation.
Ogenyi said the network would continue to mobilise support for the administration across the country.
