The presidential candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) for the 2027 general election, Ambassador Aliyu Bin Abbas, has named Hon. Chinazam Ike as his running mate.
The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Monday by Abbas’ Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Okpani Jacob Onjewu Dickson.
According to the statement, the choice of Ike reflects the party’s commitment to promoting inclusive leadership and presenting what it described as a credible alternative for Nigeria.
Abbas said the decision underscored the party’s resolve to build “a united, inclusive, competent and youth-driven leadership” that reflects the aspirations of Nigerians.
“This strategic decision reflects our unwavering commitment to building a united, inclusive, competent, and youth-driven leadership that truly represents the aspirations of all Nigerians.
“Together, we are determined to offer a credible alternative capable of restoring hope, strengthening national unity, promoting economic prosperity, and delivering purposeful governance,” he said.
The statement described Ike, who hails from Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State, as a politician, entrepreneur and youth advocate with more than two decades of leadership and political experience.
It said he had served in various leadership positions, including former chairman and vice chairman of the Forum of National Youth Leaders of Political Parties in Nigeria, as well as National Youth Leader of the ADP.
The party also highlighted his role in the private sector as Project Director of Season.com Nig. Ltd., where it said he contributed to housing development and economic growth.
According to the statement, Ike is recognised for his commitment to youth empowerment, democratic values, national development and inclusive leadership.
The party further stated that the Aliyu Bin Abbas, Chinazam Ike ticket represents “a generational shift” anchored on competence, justice, equity, innovation and service, while expressing confidence that the ticket would unite Nigerians across ethnic, regional and religious divides.
The statement called on Nigerians, particularly youths, women, professionals, traditional institutions and civil society organisations, to support the party’s vision of building what it described as “a new Nigeria founded on justice, opportunity, security and shared prosperity.”
