The Kajuru Local Government Council has commenced the distribution of learning materials and teaching aids to public primary schools across the area to mark the commencement of the 2026/2027 academic session.
The Executive Chairman of the council, Hon. Dauda Madaki, flagged off the exercise at the Department of Education headquarters in Kajuru on Monday.
Madaki said the intervention was aimed at providing teachers and pupils with essential materials for effective teaching and learning.
He commended the Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, for prioritising basic education and human capital development.
“Primary education remains the foundation of all meaningful development. What we are doing today is ensuring that our teachers have the right tools to teach, and our pupils have the materials they need to learn,” Madaki said.
He said the council was committed to supporting the state government’s rural transformation and human capital development initiatives.
The exercise was conducted in collaboration with the Education Secretary, Mrs Joy Bulus Simon, with support from the Kaduna State Universal Basic Education Board (KADSUBEB).
Items distributed included customised school uniforms, exercise books and writing materials.
Madaki directed education officials and head teachers to ensure that the materials reached the intended pupils, warning against diversion of the items.

He said the council would continue to collaborate with the Kaduna State Government to improve the standard of public schools across Kajuru.
