As part of activities marking visits to media houses across Nigeria, the President, Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Isaiah Kemje Benjamin has visited two major newspaper outfits in the nation’s capital, Abuja.
A statement signed by his media Aide, Okpani Jacob Onjewu Dickson said that the visits took place today, Monday August 7, 2023.
The media outfits visited, are Leadership Newspapers and Blueprint.
At Leadership, where he currently works as the Kaduna State Bureau Chief, he was warmly received by the Senior Vice Chairman/ Editor In Chief of Leadership Media Group Azu Ishiekwene alongside the Group Managing Director Mr Elazah Muazu at the Abuja headquarters.
The SWAN President used the opportunity to present his certificate of return from the recently conducted national triennial delegate conference in Portharcoy we’re he won as SWAN President to the management.
He also took out time to fraternize with his senior, contemporary and junior colleagues at the Leadership headquarters.
At Blueprint Newspapers Ltd, he was warmly received by the Chief Operating Officer Blueprint Newspapers Ltd, Malam Salisu Umar.
Also in his entourage to Leadership Media group was the SWAN Secretary-General Ikenna Okonkwo.
Among those who welcomed him at Blueprint, are, Daily Editor of the paper, Abdulrauf Abdulrahman and SWAN Secretary-General Ikenna Okonkwo, who is also the Online Editor of the medium and other management staff.
At both media outfits, he solicited support of their respective managements in coverage of SWAN’s activities.
