As Nigerians await the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to lift the ban on political campaigns, no fewer than 1,500 registered support groups under the All Progressives Congress (APC) have endorsed the Renewed Hope Network (TRN) as a vehicle to mobilise grassroots support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.

The endorsement was announced in a statement issued in Abuja by the Deputy Director-General of the APC Support Groups Council, Dr. AK Peters.

Peters said the decision followed a strategic meeting between the council and the technical team of the TRN, led by a former Senior Special Assistant to the APC National Chairman on Civil Society and Support Groups, Comrade Okpokwu Ogenyi, alongside an international diplomat, Prof. Tunji John Asaolu.

He expressed confidence in the growing acceptance of the network across the country, describing it as a formidable platform for political mobilisation.

According to him, the TRN is powered by former Zamfara State governor and senator representing Zamfara West, Abdulaziz Yari, and is positioned to drive grassroots engagement ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Peters disclosed that the network has already commenced early mobilisation efforts, including the deployment of polling unit canvassers nationwide, as part of preparations for the January 16, 2027 presidential election.

“The level of acceptability of TRN by Nigerians is unprecedented, and the APC Support Groups Council cannot be left out,” he said.

He added that the network has put in place comprehensive structures and strategies aimed at ensuring victory for President Tinubu.

“The TRN is committed to building the most formidable grassroots political movement in support of Mr President within a very short time, reaching every corner of the country,” Peters stated.

He further revealed that out of over 3,500 registered APC support groups, about 1,500 have already aligned with the TRN, expressing optimism that an additional 2,000 groups would join before Easter.

The statement also highlighted the leadership role of Senator Yari, noting that the network remains a key platform for grassroots mobilisation nationwide.

Peters stressed that the council would spare no effort in rallying support to ensure President Tinubu secures a second term and is sworn in on May 29, 2027.
