The Africana League Development Initiative has signed a strategic partnership with Isu Media Ltd to produce the second season of its youth-focused civic reality programme, now rebranded as Nigeria Civic House (NCH).

The agreement, announced in Abuja, will see Africana League retain oversight of the programme’s vision and civic engagement strategy, while Isu Media serves as the production and implementing partner.

Nigeria Civic House is a civic leadership initiative designed to promote democratic values and youth participation in governance through a reality TV format.

Participants are exposed to simulated parliamentary activities such as debates, motions, policy negotiations and voting.
Organisers said the second season builds on the success of the maiden edition, with an expanded focus on civic education, leadership development and inclusive governance.

Season 2 will feature participants drawn from all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, representing their constituencies in a simulated legislative environment. Contestants will be grouped into political parties and engaged in debates and governance-related tasks.

The programme will run as a 13-episode digital reality series to be streamed online and aired on terrestrial television stations, targeting a wide audience within Nigeria and in the diaspora.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Executive Director of Africana League, Glory Ukwenga, said the initiative aims to bridge the gap between young people and governance.

“Nigeria Civic House is a bold step toward bridging the gap between young people and governance. We are committed to creating platforms that empower young Nigerians to actively participate in shaping the future of our democracy,” she said.

Winners of the competition are expected to receive a N15 million prize package aimed at supporting political participation and community development projects.

The organisers added that the programme will prioritise inclusion, ensuring participation of women, persons with disabilities and youths from diverse backgrounds.

They also noted that beyond the show, the initiative will include public engagement campaigns, youth dialogue forums and digital civic education content to boost participation ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Details of registration, broadcast schedules and participation guidelines are expected to be released in the coming weeks.
