A former Administrator of Jaba Local Government Area in Kaduna State, Hon. Nita Byack George, has declared her intention to contest the House of Representatives seat for Zangon-Kataf/Jaba Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

George made the declaration at the APC Party Office in Zonkwa, saying her decision was informed by years of grassroots engagement and the need to strengthen effective representation at the National Assembly.

She said her ambition was not driven by personal interest, but by what she described as a responsibility to respond to the development challenges confronting the constituency.

“I have not come merely to declare an ambition; I have come to answer a call rooted in my record of service, the urgency of our times, and the political moment before us,” she said.

The aspirant said she has spent close to two decades working within communities across southern Kaduna, particularly in peacebuilding, women empowerment, and grassroots development initiatives.

She listed some of her interventions to include a farmers–herders dialogue initiative aimed at reducing communal tensions, the Sha’ruwa Lafia water project designed to improve access to potable water, and the Taimakon Jarin Mata programme targeted at enhancing women’s economic empowerment.

George said her experience in local government administration exposed her to the practical realities of governance, stressing that leadership must be accountable, disciplined, and responsive to citizens’ needs.

She noted that the decision of the incumbent representative to pursue a Senate seat has created room for what she described as credible and tested leadership to emerge in the constituency.

According to her, the constituency continues to grapple with challenges in infrastructure, healthcare delivery, education, youth unemployment, and economic development, which she pledged to address through effective legislative representation if elected.

George called on party stakeholders and constituents to support her aspiration, promising inclusive leadership, stronger legislative engagement, and people-focused development for Zangon-Kataf/Jaba Federal Constituency.
