The Executive Chairman of Kajuru Local Government Area, Hon. Dauda Madaki, has reaffirmed the council’s commitment to data-driven governance and evidence-based planning to improve service delivery and strengthen accountability at the grassroots.
The Kajuru council boss made the commitment during the Kaduna State Local Government Chairmen Workshop in Kano, organised by the Kaduna State Planning and Budget Commission in partnership with the UNICEF Kaduna Field Office, between August 2 and 5, 2026.
In a statement issued on Wednesday and signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Executive Chairman, John Ezra Sojah, the council said the workshop focused on strengthening governance systems through data-driven accountability and enhanced community feedback mechanisms.
According to the statement, local government councils from Kaduna State’s three senatorial districts presented practical commitments aimed at institutionalising evidence-based planning, improving transparency in public administration and enhancing the delivery of essential social services.
The statement added that participants also outlined strategies for integrating community feedback into governance processes to ensure that planning and decision-making are guided by credible data and the needs of citizens.
It further stated that presenters emphasised the importance of routine performance reviews in key sectors, including health, nutrition, education, social protection, and water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), as essential to achieving sustainable development outcomes at the local government level.
The statement said Kajuru local government reaffirmed its commitment to collaborating with the Kaduna State Government, UNICEF and other development partners to strengthen institutional capacity, advance inclusive governance and implement programmes aimed at improving the wellbeing of residents across the local government area.
